In celebration of their return to the Miami Design District and of risky and uncompromising art, Primary Project’s Books Bischof, Cristina Gonzalez and Typoe Gran presented the group exhibition “OMGWTF,” showcasing new works from New York based artists Alejandro Guzmán and Kenny Rivero, Chicago based artist Cody Hudson, and Miami cultivated artists such as George Sanchez-Calderon, Beatriz Monteavaro, Gavin Perry, Kelly Breez, Autumn Casey, and Magnus Sodamin.
“OMGWTF,” a passionate exhibition that appeal to the viewer’s emotions, is an artistic interpretation of fast and intuitive contemporary ways of communication in this digital age. This is not done by simple communication or via short and basic content but rather by evoking fast and emotional responses via reflective, inquisitive and direct artworks that are a product of the present, and by producing viewer experiences that are results of the moment, thereby mimicking common cultural acronyms. The works are an expression of the now, meaningful within this contemporary cultural context, and, outside of it, documentation of the present.
By presenting this instinctive exhibition rather than applying an academic approach, the viewer is encouraged to trust intuition as their primary guide through the exhibition experience.
